Wards 5 & 10 | Marilyn Dennis

Marilyn Dennis is serving her second term on the Board of Trustees representing the diverse population of Wards 5 & 10 in NE Calgary - encompassing all communities north of Memorial Drive and east of Deerfoot Trail. She is both honoured and humbled to be back on the Board of Trustees, and looks forward to working with her fellow Trustees to ensure CBE continues to be a leader in public education in Alberta and worldwide.

Marilyn is passionate about excellence in education. She is a tenacious problem solver who finds great satisfaction in sucessfully advocating for those who cannot advocate for themselves. Before becoming a Trustee, she spent 13 years volunteering in public schools, holding various leadership positions on school councils and parent societies. She worked for an education-based non profit for several years and brings a  wealth of knowledge and experience to the Board of Trustees.

Marilyn was raised in Calgary and is a CBE graduate. She enjoyed a rewarding career in the oil gas sector before deciding to leave the corporate world to raise her family. Marilyn has been married to Owen for 29 years and together they have three daughters. Marilyn enjoys singing, event planning, spending time with her family and recreational reading.
