Flags at CBE Schools and Buildings

According to AR 1029 Operation of Schools and AR 3074 Flag and Anthem, the national flag of Canada must be flown from the flagpole of all schools every school day.

Flags may be flown at half-mast to recognize significant events and occasions at the direction of the Chief Superintendent of Schools or delegate. The Chief Superintendent’s Office will receive direction on lowering flags through Alberta Education at the direction of the Prime Minister’s Office through Canadian Heritage, or the Premier’s Office through the Alberta Protocol Office.
