CBE Board of Trustees Response to Changes to Superintendent Compensation

We received the new compensation framework for school superintendents released by the Minister earlier today.

We are currently in the midst of recruitment efforts to replace our Chief Superintendent of Schools. We need time to fully understand what these regulations will mean for the Calgary Board of Education. In the coming weeks we will have a closer look at these regulations to understand in more depth the implications it may have the hiring of an suitable candidate.

We have always been transparent with our Chief Superintendent contract. We are pleased to see the Minister has provided a mechanism to support boards who may have challenges recruiting qualified talent into these positions.

We will work with the Minister to seek clarifications as we continue our recruitment efforts.
