Information for those Affected by Canada Post Strike

​The Canada Post strike will affect the CBE in different ways. Below is a list of contingency plans during a disruption to mail service. Any further questions can be directed to CBE Communications.

Parents and Students

School Fees

If you have outstanding school fees, you may do the following:

School fees for 2018-19 are due when assigned. 

Refunds

Families should expect a two-three week delay in receiving their refund cheque. If you have any questions, please contact Student Fees at StudentFees@cbe.ab.ca.

Transportation

Transportation forms can be submitted through MyCBE/PowerSchool, at your child’s school, or submitted in-person at the Education Centre (Second Floor, 1221 – 8 Street S.W.), Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Employees and Future Employees

New Employees

All new employees receive contracts and offer letters packages via email.  Please return these to human resources by replying to the email message. Benefit forms must have the original signed, which you can courier or drop off at the Education Centre information desk  (1221 – 8 Street S.W.). 

Successful Job Candidates

Sucessful job candidates will receive contracts and offer letters packages via email.  Please return these to human resources by replying to the email message. If there are any documents that human resources requires originals for, you can courier or drop-off at the Education Centre information desk (1221 – 8 Street S.W.). 

Current Employees

Vendors

We encourage all of our suppliers to sign up to receive their payments via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) . There are several benefits to receiving payment in this way, including avoiding any delays in receipt of payment due to the Canada Post strike.

International Students

Letters of acceptance will be emailed as attachments to applicants. Other original documents needing to be returned to applicants will not be mailed until postal service has resumed.
