Pink Shirt Day at Rideau Park School

Mar. 22, 2018

In recognition of Pink Shirt Day and CBE’s commitment to create Welcoming, Caring, Safe and Respectful learning environments and conditions for success for each student, Rideau Park’s GSA members helped to make over 400 sugar cookies in the shape of t-shirts with pink icing.  These were given to all students in order to commemorate Pink Shirt Day and increase awareness of bullying and the importance of standing up against bullying. The members of the GSA then went to elementary classrooms and read to students some books, Worm Loves Worm and Piggy Bunny, from our GSA library. Finally, the school assembled together, with elementary students inviting junior high students to dance to "Stand Up” together.
