Dual Credit - Calculus 1
This University of Calgary course (MATH 265) is an introductory calculus course covering limits, derivatives, and integrals, the calculus of exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions. Applications include curve sketching, optimization, exponential growth and decay, Taylor polynomials, fundamental theorem of calculus, improper integrals and an introduction to partial differentiation. MATH 265 is a program requirement at the University of Calgary in the faculties of Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geoscience, Mathematics and Statistics, Environmental Science, Natural Sciences, Neuroscience, Physics and Astronomy, Geography, Psychology, Earth Sciences, Economics, BComm, Biomedical Sciences, Bioinformatics, BSc in Exercise and Health Physiology, BEd Education (Math Specialty).

Student Eligibility
Open to CBE high school students who:
- Are in grades 11 or 12 as of June 2023
- Are committed to the academic rigor of a condensed university Calculus program
- Are able to arrange their own transportation to and from University of Calgary for the duration of the course
- Are excited about taking a post-secondary math course
- Have
completed the following pre-requisite course:

Math 30-1 with a minimum of 70%
- Are
on track to or have already successfully passed the following course:
Considerations
- This course runs over a condensed time frame and should be considered as a full-time job
- If enrolled in this course, students are not permitted to take other summer school courses due to the substantial time commitment to be successful.
- Students must submit a personal learning schedule with their application (see application checklist for details).
- Students should plan for a
minimum of 20 hours of independent work time per week in addition to the 20 hours of instructional time (total 40 hours per week, minimum)
- This course is offered in person and students are expected to attend all lectures and tutorials and must clearly communicate with their CBE supervising teacher and the University of Calgary instructor if any unexpected issues arise

- Book an appointment with your Off-campus coordinator and/or guidance counselor to complete your application with signatures from all parties
- The school will submit the application to Unique Pathways on your behalf
